We are in our fourth week of school and the halls, playground, and classrooms continue to be filled with excited voices, curious questions, and joy. This week Back to School Night gives us an opportunity to connect to our students’ parents. As we settle into a rhythm of the year it is good to take time every now and then to stop and take a breath, appreciate the community, and find a bit of joy. Virtue for the Week This week our school explores the virtue of Hope. This virtue is more than wishing it calls us to trust in God. You know that when life gets hard you don’t give up but carry on hoping that things will get better. You dream of a better world or something better that will come in the future. You live for something greater than yourself. Your hope drives out selfishness and boredom and encourages you to engage with your community and do good works. You trust that God is at work moving the world towards what is good. (Vicariate for Education Diocese of Leeds). Back to School Night - Wed, Sept. 25th 5:30-7:30 pm Today we sent our Back to School Parent letter (read here). We are looking forward to welcoming families to this exciting event. The format is a bit different from past years so please review the message sent yesterday. Key points to keep in mind:
Gradebook Publishing Dates Last week families learned about some revisions to Holy Trinity’s grading practices. These changes required a bit of adjustments to teacher gradebooks and the school wide grading system. This pushed the publication date for gradebooks back some. Also, we agreed to hold off on some of the elementary grades to allow students to adjust to school. Here are the new dates:
We appreciate our families efforts to get students to school on time. We also understand that there are times when legitimate events or issues make that difficult–traffic, early morning appointment, or unexpected circumstances. Guidance for what to do when a student is late remains the same as past years. If a student is late an adult must come into the office to sign in the student. This year, students receive a late slip they take to their teacher, that shows either excused or unexcused for the late. Please be sure to come into school to check in late students in person. Titan Time Every week Holy Trinity students are in Titan Time (1:25-1:55). This 30 minute session is an opportunity for community building. This was an idea that came from the staff last year. During a month Titan Time will be used for schoolwide homeroom activities, an assembly each month, cross grade Buddy Time, and grade homeroom time. So far we already had an assembly, buddy time, and some homeroom time. We are a strong community and time focused on building relationships and reinforcing our core beliefs will make us stronger. |

New volunteer opportunities have been posted! CYO is looking for a gym monitor for Saturday September 28th. No prior experience needed. This is a great way to earn sharepoint hours on the weekends. Service Projects Serve Others is one a Holy Trinity Core Belief. This year we are looking for opportunities for our community to serve others. We are also celebrating service our students, classes, and school provide to others. Here is an opportunity for the community to support a project from outside our school. We were asked by a student at Jesuit to help out with a service project -we are organizing a clothing drive for students K-12, collecting donations of gently used athletic wear and school clothing. Holy Trinity is looking for someone to help coordinate community service projects for the school. Teachers have given suggestions of projects they are interested in and we need someone to make connections with these organizations. A great way to get share hours and serve the community. Contact Dr. Erwin to help. Drama - Auditions on Wed. We have an exciting Drama season planned for 2024-25. Registration for our Fall musical, Into the Woods is now open. Auditions are September 25th and students should be registered before the auditions. Auditions will be 3:15 - 5:15. The Parent meeting has been rescheduled TBD.
