New Musician in Residence
We are thrilled to introduce Ken Canedo as our new Musician in Residence, Choir Director and Liturgical Music Coordinator!
Ken Canedo is a musician, composer and author whose songs have appeared in hymnals and songbooks around the world since 1978. He has nine albums of liturgical music and is the author of two books on the history of contemporary Catholic music. He just completed writing a novel based on his senior year at a Catholic high school. Over the years, he has worked as a youth minister and choir director at several parishes on the West Coast. Since 2005, he has been a familiar face at Holy Trinity Parish as pastoral musician and piano accompanist at our Sunday morning liturgies.
This year, Ken will work with Chris Storm to lead the music at our weekly Wednesday school liturgies, and he will teach the middle school choir elective. He will also offer music seminars to the whole school that will give our students a hands-on experience with a wide range of music, including chant and hymnody, folk music, classical, jazz, rock music, rap and hip hop, and world music. Ken’s goal is to help raise our students’ level of appreciation for the gift and beauty of music, and to encourage their more active participation in the liturgy.
Chromebooks for 6-7-8
6th grade students and students new to HT for 7th and 8th need a Chromebook linked to HT. Please bring your child(ren)'s Chromebook to HT on August 30th, so our IT company (ITGroupNW) can link your child's @htsch account and install our safety and monitoring software. Chromebooks will be available for pick up on August 31 after 2pm. If you do not want to pick up the Chromebook, we will have it waiting for your child on the first day of school.
2021-2022 Supply Lists
Please find the school supply lists for each grade here. Items do not have to be new; much can reused from this year. All supplies will be individual next year, so please label all supplies. There is no need to special order or search multiple stores. Please find the closest approximation of what is listed, and all will be well.
HTCS Family Handbook
Our 2021-2022 Family Handbook is ready. We tried to cover all possible questions and concerns in this year's update. Please review these important documents with your child(ren). If you have questions, contact Ashley Sheridan.
CYO Fall Sports
We need a 5th grade girls volleyball coach and one more player to make a team!!! Are you the Titan for the job? Email Athletic Director, Cortney Driessen at email@example.com for more information.
Registrations are currently open with CYO at cyocamphoward.org.
PE Uniform Update
Due to current virus concerns, 5th through 8th graders will NOT change for PE for the first trimester. Students will do PE in their school uniforms.
The HT uniform policy is linked here. All uniform components can be purchased at Dennis Uniform, Lands End uniform, and Tommy Hilfiger uniform. Non logo’d pieces can be purchased at any store as long as the items meets uniform requirements. Logo'd and plaid items come specifically from these three vendors.
HT Summer Reading
We are hosting a Summer Reading Challenge. Students will bring home the information brochure this week. Read all summer from different genres and earn a HT prize!
