Late Start Wednesdays, 9:15am

For the 23-24 school year, we will implement a weekly late start on Wednesdays. As a result of our past Accreditation results, future Accreditation planning and staff needs, it is essential that our talented staff have time to collaborate, participate in professional development, disaggregate and analyze data, and hold necessary meetings. We carefully and thoughtfully made this decision with feedback from our School Advisory Council, Deacon Brett and Father Bill. School will start at 9:15 am on Wednesdays and doors will open at 9:00 am. Extended Care (EC) will be open 6:30am-9:00am on Wednesdays and will be discounted 50% for Trimester 1.

Standards Referenced Grading

Holy Trinity will be fully implementing Standards Referenced Grading (SRG) PreK through 8th grade in the 23-24 school year.  We successfully implemented SRG PreK-4th grade in the 22-23 school year. Parent feedback was largely positive. The main drawbacks are the longer report card and a desire for parents to better understand how a student earns a 1,2,3, or 4. We will communicate more at the school level and grade level this fall.

Alma Student Information System

After significant parent, PTO, and staff feedback, we are switching our student information system from FACTS to Alma. Alma is a system specifically created to work with Standards Referenced Grading and created in the Portland area. It also has an app to use as well!  We will be keeping FACTS for billing and financial aid. Parent and student training for Alma will be offered in the fall. We plan to use our school website (htsch.org) as an active resource for parents. You will be able to find easy links to everything you need as a parent at Holy Trinity (handbooks, Alma, FACTS, and more).

For clarity, here are the online resources we will use:

• Alma: student grades, medical and emergency information, family directory, school activities and live calendar
• FACTS Payment Plans/Financial Aid: Tuition agreements, tuition assistance allocations and application, bills for hot lunch, extended care, clubs, etc.
• htsch.org: Monday Minute (weekly newsletter), links to links to all necessary information, volunteering, schedules, uniforms, etc
