Creating a Safe Environment

TRAINING FOR VOLUNTEERS 2023-2024

At Holy Trinity Catholic School, any adult who wishes to serve as a volunteer with our students (ie. Chaperone or drive on a field trip, accompany students on a service trip, volunteer in classrooms or the building, hot lunch server/helper etc.) must complete several requirements for student safety.

ALL school visits (bringing birthday treats, mystery reader, eating lunch with a child, etc.) when children are present do require prior completion of volunteer requirements.
In order to volunteer in any capacity at our school all volunteers must be up to date with their safety requirements.  This includes anything from attending class parties, being a room parent, driving for a field trip, helping out in class, volunteering for lunch or recess, or any of the many other ways that volunteers help to support our school community.  If you plan on volunteering at our school this year, please take some time to ensure you are up to date with your requirements for the school year.  You cannot volunteer this school year until all requirements have been met.

Below you will find the requirements for every volunteer:
  • CASE Training (once) - scheduled for Monday, August 28th at 6pm and also on Sunday, September 10th at 11am (if you have ever completed CASE training in the past then you have already met this requirement!)
  • Praesidium Class (one yearly) - this year's class is Foundations: Preventing Abuse on Youth-Serving Organizations
  • Praesidium (every 3 years) - complete Know Your Policies
  • Background Checks (every 3 years)
  • Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement Form (yearly) - print, sign, and turn the last page into Natalie Shick in the school office.  We'll have copies printed you can sign as well.

Your Praesidium Account Username should be your email address.  If you've forgotten your password click on Forgot your password? to reset it. Natalie Shick (admin@htsch.org) will send an email with directions for anyone needing a background check as needed throughout the year. If your account has been disabled, also email Natalie and she will reactivate your account(s).

New to our school or to volunteering?  Contact Natalie Shick (admin@htsch.org) to get your email entered into the Praesidium Academy and get your background check ordered.
