Human Sexuality Week

The week of March 16-20 - just before Spring Break - our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will receive instruction from our human sexuality curriculum.  Mrs. Carrick-Hungerford and Mr. Storm work together to ensure that each grade level receives lessons that are developmentally aligned with the guidelines of the Archdiocese and true to our Catholic faith. An over view of the themes is below:
  •  5th grade: Male & female anatomy, conception, and childbirth
  • 6th grade: Refresher lessons about male & female anatomy, conception, and childbirth
  • 7th grade: Theology of the Body (teachings about life, death, marriage, and sexuality)
  • 8th grade: Theology of the Body (teachings about life, death, marriage, and sexuality)
We understand that these topics are both personal and sensitive, and we would like parents to have an opportunity to preview the material that will be used. Each is a drop-in time when you can see the books and ask questions about how the material will be presented; feel free to come for all or part of the time. Mr. Storm and Mrs. Carrick-Hungerford will send out parent preview times to parents in 5th-8th grades.

Summer Programs

St. Mary's Academy Summer Program

School Mass

Please join us for our school Mass, hosted by Kindergarten, on Wednesday at 2:15pm. With more students back on campus and social distancing in the church, we cannot host many parents and visitors. Please attend only if you are a parent, family or special friend of the hosting class.

Spring Break Travel

Governor Brown recently updated her travel guidance for travel outside of Oregon. The new documents states travelers should quarantine for 14 days, but quarantine is no longer required. Guidelines did not change for international travel.

We URGE you to make careful choices when planning for Spring Break and expanding your social circle. Returning to school after travel poses a risk to all of our staff, students and families. Staying home and avoiding non-essential travel are still the best recommended practices.

Baptism & First Communion

If you have a child who would like to receive First Communion this spring, please mark your calendars for our kickoff meeting on Sunday, March 21st (sessions at 12:30pm or 3:00pm)! We will go over our preparation plan and important dates. We are also gathering names of children age 7 or older who have not yet been baptized and would like to be. Please email Ally (allyr@h-t.org) with your child(ren)’s information and any questions!
